Could someone recommend a good IRS tax attorney, preferably located in Louisville

Q.Could someone recommend a good IRS tax attorney, preferably located in Louisville KY. A good national chain, if there are any, would be my second choice.

A.You are not going to find a tax attorney at a national chailn. Perhaps if you gave us an idea of why you need one, we can steer you in a proper direction. I can't help you with tax attorney advice for Louisville, but you might start with a local CPA who could tell you if your really need a tax attorney (they are usually more expensive). IRS admits that self-employment non-filers represent a large segment of individual non-filers. And they know its partly because of the complexity of tax laws plus lack of knowledge and confusion over filing requirements. So, they might not be too hard on you with the penalties, although some professional representation would be very wise. Contact the KY Bar Association for a referral. You can probably find the Kentucky Bar Association's phone number by doing a web search
